I would suggest to purchase a rebuilt rack from the parts store. Too many special tools are required rebuild your unit. This is a big job and the car will need to have an alignment after the work is done. A repair manual from the parts store will detail the procedure.

The seals are priority number one. When replacing them make sure there is no dirt, oil, or grease on the seals or your hands. Seat them properly.

Better to replace with factory rebuilt unit from $260 online or local sources. Also inspect pump and hoses, possible contamination from worn unit will trash pump.

the steering rack is very important parts it rebuilt to do the leath work for re condition steering threads. then it will become newly it is very important work. to change all the steering box barrings. to change all the bush items'to change the centre arm bush also. you must chek your oil also. you must re -condition yor kin-bin items
