Can you tell me how to convert a four-wheel-drive to a two-wheel-drive?

If you talking about a older truck then it's pretty straight forward. If possible get a 4 wheel drive version of the vehicle to get parts from. You will need a transfer case with mount, both drive shafts, front end, and any miscellaneous lines and hardware.

Depending on the vehicle year/ type etc, you can remove the forward drive shaft from the transmission and seal the appropriate places to prevent fluid leakage.

Don't drive vehicle with 4 wheel drive engaged and it is 2 wheel drive. The cost to convert in most cases exceeds the value of the vehicle.

Take it to a dealer. Trade it in and get a 2 wheel drive. It is very difficult and expensive to convert.
