You can store wine in plastic jugs but you want to make sure that the seal is air tight or they could end up tastiing funny. It's best to leave wine in its original bottle but if you must store it in a plastic container, don't wait too long to drink it.

You can store wine in a plastic jug provided there are two conditions. First, that the jug not be exposed to heat, as that will impart a plastic taste to the wine. Second, that the wine not be kept in the jug for more than a week.

Yes you can store wine in anything, however, plastic will impart an "off" taste to any wine with a resiny backdrop to its odor. This occurs with prolonged contact with plastic, say two month or more.
