You can and should give your cockatiel fruits. They should never eat avocado. Cockatiels are very picky eaters, though, so it may be difficult getting them to try new foods. If they won't eat it alone, add tiny pieces to their seed or pellet dish. Eventually, they will take it alone.

You may serve fruits and vegetables to your cockatiel only if he has been transitioned from pellets to random foods. You always want to start out slow or else they wont understand. It is also best to prepare foods right in front of your cockatiel, so it can obtain the habit of getting used to the random foods.

Fruit and vegetables are good for birds. Use a cage clip and choose fruit and vegetables high in vitamins, like mango, oranges, carrots, or leafy greens.
