Can you replace a SOHC motor with DOHC in a 2000 Ford focus?

You can replace the motor but its not that simple you will need to replace the transmissions the clutch if you have one the and the motor mounts. This total alone is 5000 + motor. Dont do it, waste of money.

It is possible to replace SOHC motor with DOHC. Everything is a direct swap but it requires engine wiring, PCM, transmission, axles etc. A donor car enables access to everything. SOHC also has 4 valves per cylinder. DOHC has dedicated CAM for each side of intake and exhaust. But it poses problems relating to Split Port Injection[SPI] engine performance.

yes it is possible however it can be pricey. You need to make sure the mounts are the same. You also need to change the computer.

Pretty much anything is possible with enough time and money. Depending on which exact engines you are swapping he process can vary. If you do your homework then the swap can be easier. You may end up spending a lot of time and money making it work.
