Theoretically, yes. If you are technically-skilled enough that you can determine that the laser on your CD player isn't working in the first place, I would say yes, you would be able to replace it. Most people are not though, and it's never worth the trouble.

It would be hard to do, You would spend more time and money finding and replacing the laser than simply buying a new cd player
