Can you plant decorative grass in the fall?

Fall planting is not recommended unless it is in containers. Plant grass in spring. Annual grass grows well from seed or you can divide and transplant roots from perennials. Low maintainance, it will grow in most soil. Cut back to around 6" in early spring and water frequently.

Yes, ornamental grass can definitely be planted in the fall. In fact, the best times of the year for it to grow are in the fall and spring. It gives them plenty of time to grow their roots.
