Mixing Naltrexone and alcohol appears to have no serious consequences, although some cases of nausea has been reported. The Naltrexone will not stave off any of the alcohol's effects.

According to FDA clinical trials, up to 15% of patients who use Naltrexon as a treatment for alcohol consumption will report side effects of gastrointestinal upset. However, you should still consult your physician or pharmacisit before ever mixing alcohol and any drug.

Fundamental mechanism is Naltrexon reduces desire to Drink. Though its not perfect remedy. FDA's recommendation of prescribing doesn't work complete since dosage were very less.
