Can you help me with Vortec troubleshooting?

The best place to find troubleshooting answers about the Vortec engine would be in a repair manual. You can get them at an auto parts store. I reccommend the Haynes manual. At the very beginning of the book it will have an engine troubleshooting section, and all the possible causes of the problem.

Yes. The vortec system is a chevy system that mixes the air a nd fuel mixture in a more efficent way to provide better acceleration. If it seems to be working poorly check for any air or coolant leaks at the intake manifold gasket which is directly under the Vortec intake manifold.

If is an early vortec, more than likely it's fuel regulator problems. The 93-96 vortec motors had a built in regulator but now it's available separately.
