The first thing you should always check when troubleshooting an electrical appliance is that the unit is plugged in. Once this has been determined make sure you have not blown a fuse in your homes main circuit breaker.

It sounds like to me that you have a bad thermostat. You should try replacing that first and if it still does not work you have a bad coil.

Try pulling out the fridge and cleaning the dust off the coils, also check the temperature setting to make sure it wasn not bumped.

you might have a ice build up and you need to shut it off and take every thing out and leave it off till every thing melts then turn on
