Ninth grade students are expected to be able to apply trigonometry to problems involving triangles. For example, you should be able to determine the height of a flagpole, standing in the middle of a flat, level field, if a surveyor located at fifty feet from the flagpole's base measures the angle to the top of the flagpole as 48°?

Many problems are about interpreting information you have and asking you to use it to solve a problem. For example, a circular tables has a diameter of 5.5 feet, find the area of the tables surface?
