Can you give me an example of juxtaposition?

I'm not clear on what that word means.

Juxtaposition means to place to things next to each other in a form of comparison/contrast. So, one might say that "The salvaged metal on the boat hull was rusted and flaked, while the new aluminum was shiny." This sentence juxtaposes the salvaged metal with the new aluminum by telling you something about each and allowing a comparison.

Juxtaposition means to place two items side by side. Someone could juxtaposition their Hannakuh decorations along with their Christmas decorations, thereby satisfying two faiths with one major celebration. The implication is that the items are similar, in this case decorations, but not exactly the same.
