Can you give me a comparison of popular digital cameras?

I have never had a digital camera before.

Kodak is not a good digital camera. They are made cheap and break easily. Canon, Nikon and Sony are the top three brands. I personally love Canon. Olympus cameras are made very sturdy and well also. You don't need a ton of megapixels but make sure you have image stablization.

Forget about comparisons, here are some relatively inexpensive, reliable, and high quality cameras that are perfect for beginners but take very professional looking photos. Sony CyberShot, Samsung ES25, Nikon Coolpix L22, or the Olympus T-100. All very comparable models for a relatively low price, all of outstanding quality that will suit your needs.

Digital cameras contain the same options as film cameras. A good first camera would be one with image stabilization and automatic photography. Good ones include Kodak, Canon and Sony.

All most all of them are great but a few things to specifically look for would be the LCD screen, Zoom, and megapixel size. The larger the megapixel the best the picture. I would recommend Kodak with at least a 7 megapixel.
