Can you do glazing at home in your own oven?

No, glazing must be done in a pottery kiln, as a regular oven doesn't get hot enough to set or cure the glaze. Another reason is that the fumes that would escape a regular oven could be hazardous to ones health.

Glazing of what exactly? If you are asking about ceramics then the answer is no. The extremely high temperatures that are required to glaze a ceramic piece are entirely too hot for a home oven. Usually in excess of 900 degrees, which would definitely set the house on fire. Hope that helps.

There are certain glazes that are approved for use in a home oven. Make sure to read the label before using the product and follow the directions.

No. Ceramics requires temperatures in excess of 1500 degrees F. Glazing also gives off dangerous fumes! This is why kilns are outdoors or in a very well ventilated space. You wouldnt want to cook food where you melted glaze!
