Yes but if you are a beginner, they are very difficult to raise and keep. They are very temperamental and delicate. Many are called different names due to their color patterns, . Cobalt, blue, blue head, red thunder, snake skin, pigeon blood, spotted strawberry and the list goes on extensively.

Yes, you can buy discus fish. Try any of your aquarium stores or an online fish retailer. they do not go by another common name, but can be found by their scientific name Symphysodon
