No law forces any employer to not force workers to work on Sunday, assuming that other workers also have to work on this day.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on religion. From personal experience, the EEOC will stand with anyone who has been fired, threatened to be fired, or otherwise forced to do something against their religious beliefs.  add a comment

Many religious leaders prohibit members from working on Sunday. However, a boss is not obligated to believe in the same principles. He or she may require you to work Sundays. If you don't, you may be fired. This is perfectly legal as every boss has a right to organize the working schedules. You may choose to quit the job.

You cannot be forced to do anything against your honestly held religious beliefs, and an employer could be fined for doing so.

You can't actually be forced to work on Sunday. They can't physically restrain or use force to keep you at work. However, they can fire you for missing work or use other disciplinary actions. It's best to be sure before starting a job that they are aware that you will not work on Sundays.

Yes; just as many people eschewed the day of rest during the Great Depression, money could 'force' me to work on a Sunday. Not only that, but job security and such may be regarded as higher in importance than a particular day of the week. Unless my faith was particularly strong, forcing would be unneccesary.
