No it would not look like blood. The tomatoes will become digested in your stomach and then come out as a brown waste product rather than being the same color as when they started.

Wrong. Many times tomatoes and their skins re-appear in stool undigested. As do beets, corn, red pepper. etc. please check your facts!  add a comment

Actually it will because the skin is indigestible fibre which the body has a hard time digesting. Don't answer a question when you obviously don't know the first thing about the topic  add a comment

No. Blood in the stool is dark, not red. Tomatoes and tomato juices are usually light red or pink, and not dark. Even at the darkest, tomatoes never get as dark red as blood in a stool would be.

Very wrong! Only digested blood is dark, and then it usually turns your whole stool black and/or tarry. Digested blood is usually from the upper GI tract. Blood from the lower GI tract (colon, hemmorhoids, fissures...) can ABSOLUTELY be bright red. check your facts please!  add a comment

The tomato skin if not digested properly can look like blood in the stool. Otherwise tomatoes do not change the color of stool. I have heard that if their is blood in the stool, the stool is a blackish color.

Only digested blood from the upper GI is dark, and tomatoes (and any high fiber fruit/veggie) like red pepper, watermelon, corn, peanuts) can come out looking pretty much the same as they went in  add a comment

That will only happen if the tomatoes are undigested, such as in a case diarrhea. Another possibility is if you ate peppers and tomatoes in such volume that some passed through. Otherwise, it is blood in your stool.

Tomato skins pass through my digestive system as if they were made of plastic. Years ago, they caused no problem. I don't know if I changed or tomatoes have been bred to have tougher skins for shipment to market. Any ideas?
