It's the other way around. Thyroid problems can cause subnormal body temperatures. Be sure to get the blood tests that can tell you if your thyroid is okay.

Subnormal temperatures do not cause thyroid problems. Thyroid problems are caused by a lack of production of thyroid hormones. However, subnormal temperatures are often a symptom of thyroid problems. If you are experiencing lower than normal temperatures and have thyroid problems, and are taking thyroid medicine, a thyroid level may be in order.

Its more like the other way around - subnormal temperatures can lead to problems if you are already hypothyroidic. Hypothyroidism leads to a lower basal metabolic rate and less energy available to burn for body heat. If anything, cold temperatures would lead to a very slight increase in thyroid hormone production, but not enough to cause a problem by itself.

You should ask your doctor about it, the doctor would know best if it does. Or you can look it up online. But the best would be to ask your doctor.
