Can someone complete identity theft with the last four digits of a credit card?

No, the last four digits of a credit card are useless to identity theft someone. You need at least the social security number and creditcard number to even get started.

Not really. Most vendors display the last four digits of a credit card for identification, but it would be virtually impossible to accurately come up with the remaining numbers (and the unique identifier on the back) if all you had was the last four. Still, it's not worth taking the chance, protect all of your identifying information.

No. That's why the receipts these days only show those digits. But it is another piece of your identity that could be helpful to a crook. Tear up those receipts.

It is possible if one knows the banking institution and other information about the individual. However, that is very difficult.
