Can sod grass be watered too much?

I think my new sod has gotten too much water.

Yes it can be and you will always know when it has bee watered too much it willo instantly start to wilt that happnes because when the sod gets to much water it turns to muck and mud and nothing has a chance of growing in it. You can also do a net search for more information.

New sod can be overwatered. You only need to keep the roots moist until they grow deep enough to sustain themselves with regular watering. For new sod, 10 minutes of watering 3 times a day should be sufficient in hot climates. Often, sod takes longer to root from a lack of fertilizer. Apply a light coat at 4 week intervals.

It's difficult to over water sod to the point that it is damaged. If it is soaked and puddles when standing it, just stop watering for several days.

If you stand on the sod and you see water coming up above your shoes then the sod is too wet. Wait a few days before you water again. It is best to water during the day, night watering can bring on mildew problems, or the dampest can cause mushrooms.

Yes, it can be watered too much. It should be kept damp, but there shouldn't be any puddles or standing pools.
