Can I use a hair dye for dark hair to make it 3 shades lighter?

Probably not, you need to first lift your hair color and then deposit the color to see any kind of difference. If you do this with an at-home kit, the results with be either unnoticeable or orange. Your best bet would be to have it done by a professional.

You can lighten hair using a color lifter or bleach. Dark hair should lighten up at least three shades, but be careful for dark hair could turn orange.

You might use a hair dye to darken the hair however, inorder to lighten the hair you may use the dye but it might not show accurate results.
