It is not advisable to take Norco immediately before back surgery as it may interfere with the anesthesia required for the surgery. However if you do take Norco before surgery then let your surgeon and the anesthesiologist know that so that they may make adjustments

it is not preferable to take Norco before back surgery, because it may cause for any unpleasant situation durign administration of anesthetic drug. so better avoiding this drug two days before surgery. Many doctors strictly recommended patient to avoid this drug before surgery. This is the drug which creates addiction in users.

Ir depends on the specific surgery and anesthesia that you area having. Ask you surgeon when you shoudl stop taking it prior to the procedure.
