Can I take cuttings from petunias?

Yes. Cut a stem of about 6". Remove the leaves from the bottom half and any flowers or buds. Dip the tip in rooting hormone and place in dampened potting soil. Loosely cover with plastic wrap and place out of direct sun for 7-10 days.

No According to me Cuttings from petunias will not grow. Petunias can directly grown from from seeds. It takes 6-10 weeks to grow an blossom flowers. to perfectly grow this plant it requires at least 6 hours of sun everyday.

You can take a cutting from any flower, but getting it to take root is another story. I am not sure if petunias will root, but with a little rooting booster, you just may get lucky. My grandmother took cuttings from every flower anyone owned and had lots of luck.

Petunias are annual flowers. Usually you only take cuttings from flowers that you want to come back each year. Flowers that are mark annual will not come back each year. You should be looking at flowers marked perennial.
