You should sleep on the side opposite of the fracture to avoid any further injury to the ankle. Do not sleep on the same side as your fracture. You can place a pillow between your calves to increase stability.

Yes you can. Don't put any pressure on the ankle and you will be fine. Sleeping is fine, just don't walk on it.

The best way to sleep would be on your back with your foot slightly elevated, a great thing to use for this would be a pillow or two. However, I suppose if you were comfortable on your side and not applying pressure or hurting your fractured ankle, you could sleep on your side.

If the ankle is not immobilized properly, you are probably in a great deal of pain. If not, it is and you can sleep any way you desire, as long as it does not cause pain.
