Can I paint my walls with an oil latex primer?

I am a professional painter and I do not use anything oil based unless it is desperately necessary because of severe staining (such as fire and smoke damage). If your walls are just worn and dirty, two coats of any normal latex paint will cover them up beautifully.

You can paint them with an oil based primer or a latex primer. Latex makes a kind of film that doesn't sink into fibers like oil based can.

Yes, you can paint your walls with an oil latex primer. They even make special paint that will apply nicely over top of the oil paint. You should be sure to read the can before buying it to be positive that you can use that type of paint on top of the oil.

Yes, you certainly can do this, but it creates some issues that you may not want to deal with in the future. If you use an oil latex primer, you must also use oil paint to finish off the project. With all of the beautiful acrylic paints available, and cleanup so much easier, I would choose acrylic primer instead.

You can paint your walls with anything that you like, but that doesn't mean it'll come out right, or the way you want it to. I'd say no, cause the topcoat would not go on right due to the walls not absorbing the oil in the primer as say, a wood cuboard would.
