Yes you can legally own a tiger in the United Staes. Although there are tremendous restrictions and red tape to go through.

You can but it is completly dangerous to other citizens - per se if the tiger goes around killing people .

It is illegal for a private citizen to own a tiger. Other exotic animals may be allowed depending on your state laws, but tigers can only be owned by zoos.
