unless you don't have special purpose converters, the answer is "no". a DVD player has many types of outputs; like Av,RF,s-video,optical etc. older version of televisions support the RF jack only. so there is a need of a converter that converts other modes of output to RF.

Yes you can hook a dvd player to an older tv. You can use an rf modulator. In instances where the tv only has a Coax Cable Input the RF modulator creates a connection for the dvd player and converts the dvd video and audio signal into a RF signal.

Yes, we can hook it by using some adapters like extensions. From this extension we can hook our DVD player to our older TV

It completely depends on what you mean by an "older TV. " Any TV produced in the 1980's or more recently will have the input ports that are used to connect the cables from your DVD player to the television. However, if your set is from the '70s or before, it may not have the proper ports.
