Can I have botox during pregnancy?

My sister does Botox all the time, she recently found out that she is pregnant and she is still having the injections done.

No. The results of botox on a developing fetus has not been studied well enough to condone injections suring pregnancy. It is not recommended that botox be used during any part of a pregnancy.

Botox hasnt been tested on pregnant women, however if she is having injections done the small amount that leaks into the blood stream is unlikely to reach the baby through the placenta and cause any damage.

This issue has not been studied yet. The company advices that you don't do this since they don't know the effects of Botox while a woman is pregnant. Though some doctors feel it doesn't harm the baby since it doesn't carry in the bloodstream, but only effects the site of the injection.

That is something you are going to need to talk to your doctor about. Discontinue all use of Botox until you can ask him if it's okay to get injections done while pregnant. Better safe than sorry.
