Never worry about what someone else thinks about your home. The only thing you should worry about is the resale value if you plan on selling the home anytime soon. I think Crown Molding looks great. It's also got a high resale value in homes so it's a good choice for your Kitchen.

I believe crown molding adds a sense of elegance to a room. Of course, the room has to have other elements that play into it, but crown molding is definitely an added benefit for making the room look nicer. It can be expensive, but the end result is worth what you achieve.
