People with liver disease should be careful about exercising. They need to do it in moderation. Strenuous exercise can cause a flare-up of symptoms. You should ask your doctor about your exercise program before you begin if you have a liver disease.

Exercise does not exacerbate liver damage. In fact, it can help prevent it. Obesity on the other hand exacerbates liver damage and can even make it worse.

People with liver damage actually benefit from a program of regular moderate exercise, which decreases stress, depression, and fatigue. They should avoid strenuous exercise which might make symptoms worse.
