Can an algae eater get ich?

Any fish in the tank can get ich, even an algae eater. I would go to the pet store an get the same stuff that you can get to treat ich in other fish. In the past, I have noticed that it takes longer for the fish that eat algae to get sick.

its very common with the algae eater especially when the weather gets cooler. if your algae eater has tiny white specks then it got ich. then turn your tank heater up till it reaches 87F. also remember ich hates heat and salt.

Algae eaters are very susceptible to ich. It is even worse in colder water. Raise the temperature and add a little condoning salt to help.

Almost any fish in your aquarium can get ich. Make sure that you are treating the aquarium water and changing the filter.
