Possibly. Take your pet to a vet for a checkup. You will have to find a qualified EXOTICS vet (not an ordinary cat/dog vet), as they are the only ones who are experienced with rodents and will be able to give you accurate diagnoses/advice.

Yes, they can. Make sure his diet is good and his cage is kept properly and take him to an exotics vet for a check up.
