Can a landlord insist to have the keys to show people the property if you are not available?

The Landlord Tenant Law in your state likely provides that the landlord can show the property in your absence. It usually 24 or 48 hours notice. Your lease agreement may also have related language in it.

Check your lease as well as the Tenant-Landlord Law in your state. If you are moving out, it is reasonable for the landlord to show the property. Usually, at least 24 hours notice is required. Your presence is not. The landlord is responsible while in your home.

Technically he can show the apartment to people when you are not available but he has to tell you when he will be entering the property and when he will be leaving.
