At what age should children be allowed to chat?

I'm worried she's not wary of predators.

I think this is a decision that should be made individually - in every family, with every child. Some children are simply more trustworthy and cautious (much like adults!) while some aren't. If you are worried your daughter isn't cautious enough, maybe wait another year or two?

If your child is under 16, I recommend supervised chatting only, and many chat sites are 18 and up. Try letting her chat on sites specifically for children and teens.
