At what age do toddlers learn their abc's?

Some children learn them around age two, others are not interested or ready to learn them until later. It's really not absolutely critical that they know the alphabet until they are ready for kindergarten. Preschool programs for 3-year-olds will usually begin teaching them their letters and the related sounds. Reading to your child will help spark his or her interest.

Toddlers can learn their ABCs as a song at age 2. They usually have trouble recognizing individual letters of the alphabet until age 3. A child should be able to recognize and write the alphabet at age 4.

Children learn their abc's at different ages. You can try and teach him with singing the songing repeatedly at different times during the day and making a game of it. There are tons of toys that emphasize the alphabet. For sure LeapFrog is the most popular of the brands as well as fisher price.
