dental care

Question by  Oneironaut (31)

Is it common to have to sedate toddlers for dental work?

My dentist says it's the only way to fix my two-year old's cavities.

A two year old may find the dentist a scary person. The drilling of teeth can be especially scary. It would be necessary to sedate the child to prevent injury while work is being done. For x-rays and cleaning, it probably is not necessary. It would depend on the temperament of the child.

Yes, working on children is a very hard job. The easiest way is to sedate. If you are not comfertable TELL the dentist you want to be with her.
