Yes they are. Like many reptile species, Water Dragons require special lighting and supplementation. Natural sunlight is ideal but good fluorescent bulbs are made specifically for reptiles and they produce high amounts of UVB rays that are beneficial for the animal. Good calcium and vitamin powders are also available and highly recommended. Get a supplement that contains vitamin D3.

Yes. Metabolic Bone Disease, caused by inadequate minerals in the diet, affects Water Dragons. Care must be taken to include the correct amount of calcium in the diet.
