Are there different kinds of power steering fluid?

There are different brands, but there aren't really different types. The main difference in one brand of power steering fluid among another is it's price range, i suppose the quality of steering fluid might diminish if its cheap or from a third party, not well known marketing company, but that's just speculation.

There is only one type of power steering fluid for passenger vehicles, cars, trucks, S.u.v's. However there are a lot more than a few different brands of power steering fluid.

There are a few different brand supposedly for different applications. Most though are just a standard type of hydraulic fluid. The manufacture may recommend a specific brand for your car.
