Harlequin bugs, cabbage worms, or aphids are attracted to cauliflower. You can spot them on the underside of the lower leaves. These can be treated by spraying or dusting insecticides from your local nursery or flower farm.

There should not be. If you have washed it thoroughly and still see any bugs you should discard and not eat it.

Cauliflower like any vegtable could have bugs on it, more likely if it's dark looking patches it's simply that the cauliflower is bruised while ripening and is nothing to worry about. It is still safe to eat if you just trim off the spots and prepare by rinsing, cutting into pieces and boiling, steaming or even eating raw.

Any vegetable can have insects on it. There are a wide range of bugs that eat almost any vegetable, including cauliflower. You should carefully wash any vegetables before eating them.
