Well yes but remember the value of the coins is dependent on the type of people they are worth money to or the type of people that have sentimental value for the coins. You should keep them for a while and see them increase in value and then you should sell on ebay.

If you have coins with the Emperor on it, prior to the start of WWII, those could be very valuable. It's best to check a coin collector's book on what exactly it is collectors are looking for. Take your Coins to a dealer first. Do not go on websites.

Of course there are valuable Japanese coins. I imagine that, much like American coins, the older that they get and the rarer they are, the more expensive.
