You are correct. Everything is pretty straightforward. Make sure you install it correctly or it could fry your motherboard ruining everything in your computer. You do not want that to happen!

Intel 845 motherboards are pretty old, 8 years at least. No tricks whatsoever when installing a video card. Make sure it's AGP, install on a free AGP slot and depending on your OS download appropriate drivers or use the CD that came with the video card.

It is pretty straightforward. Just make sure your card is an AGP 4x. YOu just open up the computer, remove the extension card cover on the back, and slide it into the AGP slot. (It looks different from the others) Now, start up your computer and instal the drivers.

The only tricks are to verify your operating system and the requirements for the card. Once you are certain your computer and the card are compatible, make sure you download the correct driver. Install, reboot, and you're ready to go.

If you want to install a video card on a desktop PC first you need to identify what kind of slot you have. There are 3 different major kinds of slots. PCI, AGP, and PCI-express. One you figure this out, buy the appropriate type of card. Some cards require a separate power supply connection.

There are worse cards to try to install but it's still not exactly plug and play. Just be careful and use your common sense and you'll be fine.

In general, you should just replace the new card with the old one. Install the supplied drivers to fully access the card's functions.

Get the appropriate driver from the manufacturers website and install it. That should be as complicated as it gets. I did not hear of any problems caused by the chipset you mentioned.
