Eczema is basically a fancy term for dry skin and in mild cases can be treated with moisturizing creams and lotions that can be bought over the counter. Severe cases require treatment with prescription creams.

Stay away from almost all products, they have fragrances, dyes, chemicals, preservatives, and other ingredients. Use a perfume free, dye free, lanolin free & oil free soap such as Dove Pure & Gentle or Basis. Constantly hydrate your skin, with liberal amounts of lotion. Apply lotion within 3 minutes of stepping from the shower. Consider getting an allergy test.

Zinc oxide creme is a good over the counter remedy. Also, try taking vitamin E pills, and regularly applying lotion. When choosing a lotion, read the ingredients, try to choose a lotion that doesn't have any alcohol in the first couple of ingredients. Apply the lotion several times a day, especially after being exposed to water; shower, bath, or dishes.

You can use hydrocortisone cream, that will help with the itch. However, the best product I've used is Bag Balm, which you can get at any drug store. It soothes the skin and you will definitely begin to see a difference within a day or two. Just put a small amount on and rub it in where the rash is.

Absolutely! Walmart carries many over the counter Derma-brand remedies. However, you must read the label as some have a risk of causing negative side effects.

Try Aquaphor or Eucerin creams to help keep the affected skin soft. An antihistamine is useful to stop the itchiness associated with eczema. An oatmeal bath is a good option.

Hydrocortisone works really good for excema. There are lots of brands you can buy, but the store brand is less expensive and usually has the exact same ingredients as the name brands.

There are tons of over the counter remedies for eczema. The most common and cheapest are simple moisturizers and barrier creams. The second and more effective, allthough has long term side effects is low potency steroid creams. Also always buy and use hypoallergenic soaps, as often this helps. See you doctor to get a better opinion.
