Yes, there are federal grants. Look online for information. There are just a few sites. You can't get a job because you were convicted. Ask yourself... would you hire yourself?

It depends on what kind that you are looking for. If you are wanting to go back to school,you can apply for a get a pell grant for your eductation. You can get work it is just hard to find. It is better to be honest that you are a felon. Contruction companies are know to hire felons.
