Your best bet would be to find places that are hiring for certified AUTOCad persons and then ask if you can telecommute to work.

The best sources of cad work at home work is with architecture and mechanical design firms willing to outsource work. You can also contact engineering contracting firms and offer your services. Job shops, tooling and die shops, and machine shops may also outsource their work to someone who works from home if you are cheaper than the competition.

You must have a portfolio of the work you've done (create projects for yourself if you've not yet worked). Watch for ads for AutoCAD positions in your area and apply. Interview to get your name out there. Always ask about telecommuting. Join related organizations; network. You have to cultivate freelance & telecommuting opportunities.

Yes. This is usually done as a subcontractor for a small engineering or architecture firm. You take their drawings and create Autocad drawings. You can also find work from inventors who need formal drawings of their products made. There are often landscaping and fencing firms that also need drafters to make prints out of their hand drawings.

It is possible to work at home in AutoCAD, provided you have the most suitable equipment and software to be able to carry out your projects to the fullest possible extent. For your business to thrive, it is also important to have a strong client base, and adequate space to consult with clients in a comfortable yet professional setting.
