Best Foods makes Hellman's mayonnaise. The product is marketed west of the Rockies as Best Foods Mayonnaise. Both brands are owned by Unilever, which is the umbrella company for a number of food manufacturers. You are correct: the jar shape, the lid and the label color and design is nearly identical, except for the name of the product.

Yes. Hellmanns and Best Foods are the same product. It depends on which side of the country you are in. Best Foods is the brand name on the West Coast and Hellmanns is the brand name on the East Coast.
