DVD cleaners are like a laser clean. I wouldn't recommend using one unless your DVD players is skipping, because excessive use is known to wither down the coating on the laser, which would ruin your DVD player!
Dvd cleaners are very good in my opinion. I clean my dvd player about once every 3 months. It keeps the dvd player from stratching the dvds and in good working order.
