You want one with soft rubber wheels, any vacuum with hard plastic wheels can scuff your floor. Its best to just use a broom to ensure that you don't scratch your hardwood floors. A vacuum being cordless doesn't affect the floor in anyway, accept maybe the cord dragging on the floor.

Vacuum cleaners with cords may be found that have great hardwood settings. When this setting is used, the floor will not get scratched! Also, an alternative would be to use a Swiffer Duster with hardwood cleaner. The hardwood cleaner will be safe on many different types of floors giving you the biggest bang for you buck.

It doesn't really matter whether or not it has a cord. What's important is that you purchase a vacuum that is made for use on hardwood floors.

You probably don't even need a vacuum cleaner to clean your hardwood floors, you can buy a big broom and sweep everything up very easily.
