Capsicums are hot peppers that are both used in culinary and medicinal applications. The "bite" in any great Tex-Mex that leaves you sweating and reaching for a glass of water is created by a chemical that increases both body temperature and blood circulation. Capsicum is usually added to topical pain ointments and traditional cardiac formulas.
