Yes - 6-legged, winged invertebrate animals with 3 body segments (head, thorax, abdomen) are insects, belonging to class Insecta. Beetles belong to the order Coleoptera under class Insecta.

Beatles are four musicians from Liverpool in England and they are (or were in the case of two) human. Beetles are bugs and therefore insects. Insects have six legs and chewing/sucking mouth parts. Unless you are asking about the Volkswagen Beetle, which is an automobile.

Thanks for pointing out the spell error - lol. But "beetles are bugs and therefore insects" isn't completely accurate, because "bug" can refer to any invertebrate creature, including insects, or it could refer to the specific "true bug" insect order, or it could be a problem in a computer program.  add a comment

Beatles are considered part of the insect category. Beatles are classified in the order Coleoptera. Beatles also have the largest number of species known of any type of animal, with the possible exception of bacteria.
