Are auto air conditioner conversion kits hard to use? What would you recommend?

A conversion kit is a tricky thing. In most cases they as easy to install however a home mechanic will not have the equipment to properly bleed the old refrigerant out and it is illegal and dangerous to vent it to the atmosphere. The best option is to have an a/c shop convert it for you.

They are relitivly easy to use as long as you read the directions and follow them to the letter.If you do not do this it can result in injury or worse. It is always good to have a friend with automotive backround help you with this task. That way he can assist and check the work for saftey reasons.

Auto air kits aren't generally hard to use. They involve a few hoses attached to valves already attached. Instructions per model are usually included.

The actual kits are not hard to install however because you probably don't have the proper equipment to evacuate and recharge the system, I would highly recommend that if you want to do this, you leave it to a professional. Even then it will only cool about half as good.
